Zancott Recruitment are seeking a Construction Supervisor for a proudly South Australian mid-tier civil contractor and an industry leader in delivering large-scale urban regeneration projects, new sub-divisional developments, and the installation and replacement of essential services in urban environments.

Position Scope
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Site Supervisor will work alongside Project Managers and Site Superintendents to ensure the successful delivery of a wide range of civil construction projects.
Project Experience & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge in:
- Bulk earthworks
- Greenfield and brownfield subdivisions
- Urban regeneration and streetscapes
- Roads and urban space construction
- Underground services including stormwater, sewer, water mains, and common services
Key Duties Include:
- Efficient supervision of civil construction sites
- Coordination with Project Managers to meet project milestones and delivery targets
- Ensuring hold points and testing are conducted as per the ITP and project schedule
- Leading teams of 5–20 personnel, including subcontractors and suppliers
- Writing and reviewing safety documentation (SWMS, Risk Assessments, incident reports, pre-starts)
- Promoting and upholding WHS standards and procedures
- Maintaining quality and environmental controls to meet company and regulatory standards
- Operating and allocating plant and equipment as required
- Pipelaying with minimal defects, meeting authority specifications
- Overseeing traffic management in line with project requirements
- Interpreting and verifying project drawings, plans, and specifications
- Timely reporting of incidents and managing subcontractor compliance
- Ensuring required permits are received prior to excavation or digging activities
Supervision & Quality Control
- Representing the company in site meetings
- Monitoring and measuring performance against project programs
- Coordinating design issues and seeking approvals for changes
- Ensuring inspections and testing are completed according to the ITP
- Ensuring subcontractor compliance with safety documentation
- Delivering projects in line with construction programs
- Performing regular safety inspections
- Managing on-site materials, equipment, and tools
- Upholding housekeeping and site discipline standards
Key Performance Indicators:
- 100% incident reporting within 24 hours
- Project milestones met on >85% of projects
- Defect-free handovers <5%
- SA Water defect rate <5%
- 95% compliance with ITP and testing procedures
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Supervisor in civil construction
- Cert III or Cert IV in Civil Construction (desirable)
- Experience in supervision of medium to large-scale civil projects
Training & Tickets:
- Work Zone Traffic Management
- Environmental & Cultural Awareness

- Confined Spaces, First Aid, Plant Operation, Dogging
- DBYD & Quick Cut Awareness
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills
- Proven experience in pipelaying and traffic management
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and programs
- Experience with WHS, Quality, and Environmental management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems
Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License (Truck class preferred)
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varied conditions
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
