Leading Hand

Zancott Recruitment is recruiting an experienced and motivated Leading Hand on behalf of a well-established and reputable client operating within the Victorian Utilities and Infrastructure sector.

This role will support a long-term program of water and wastewater infrastructure works across Victoria. Projects include treatment plants, large-scale pipelines, pump stations, earthworks and concrete structures. You will work within a dedicated, high-performing team delivering critical utility infrastructure located in Pakenham.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Site Supervisor and take ownership of water and wastewater works from commencement through to completion

• Coordinate and manage site personnel and subcontractors

• Communicate effectively with the site team to program works and track job progress

• Attend and actively contribute to site and project meetings

• Manage issue and dispute resolution as required

• Ensure all inspections, quality records and site documentation are completed and signed off

• Lead by example and ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures are followed at all times

About You

• Trade qualification or substantial experience within the civil construction / water and wastewater sector

• Proven experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects

• Strong organisational, time management and communication skills

• Ability to build effective working relationships with site teams, clients and stakeholders

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and self-motivated approach

• Proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

• Valid Driver's Licence (additional operator or plant tickets highly regarded)

• Strong commitment to safety and demonstrated ability to lead safe work practices
