Excavator Operator

Zancott Recruitment is seeking experienced and reliable Excavator Operators on behalf of a well-established and reputable client operating within the Victorian Utilities and Infrastructure sector.

You will be part of a dedicated site team delivering a long-term program of water and wastewater infrastructure works across Victoria. Projects include pipelines, pump stations, earthworks and concrete structures. This role offers stability, variety and the opportunity to work on critical utility assets alongside experienced industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation of excavators on water and wastewater civil construction projects

• Trenching, backfilling and service installation around live utilities

• Safe setup of job sites in accordance with supervisor and project requirements

• Interpretation of DBYD plans and identification of underground services prior to excavation

• Completion of JSEAs, pre-starts and daily site documentation

• Carrying out basic plant maintenance and pre-start checks

• Reporting daily productivity and any issues to supervisors and engineers

• Implementing environmental controls in line with site CEMPs

About You

• Proven experience operating excavators on water and wastewater civil projects (essential)

• Strong understanding of working around live services and utilities

• Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)

• Valid Driver's Licence (HR licence highly regarded)

• Excavator ticket required

• Additional plant tickets such as Posi-Track, Front End Loader, Roller, are beneficial but not essential

• Reliable, punctual and safety-focused with strong attention to detail

• Strong commitment to safe work practices
