We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil and General Construction Trainer and Assessor to deliver hands-on training programs within in facilities across South Australia.

This role focuses on equipping participants with practical construction skills through real-world, small-scale projects such as paving and concreting. You will play a key role in supporting individuals to develop job-ready skills and achieve nationally recognised competencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and assessment in civil and general construction programs
  • Facilitate hands-on, live works projects (e.g. paving, concreting)
  • Assess participant competency in line with national training standards
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation
  • Adapt training delivery to suit diverse learning needs
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders and participants
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
  • Vocational experience in civil and/or general construction
  • Minimum 5 years current industry experience
  • Ability to deliver practical, hands-on training in live work environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current driver’s licence

Desirable

  • Certificate II or III in Civil Construction or General Construction
  • Experience delivering training in correctional or high-security environments
  • Experience running small-scale construction projects

Work Environment & Travel

  • Delivery across correctional facilities in South Australia, including regional locations
  • Ability to work away from home as required
    • Regional delivery: Travel required (typically Sunday–Friday, with weekends at home)
    • Metro delivery: Local work with daily return home
