Supporting the daily operations of our client, a national, full service construction and mining services company, we are currently seeking multiple skilled, and safety conscious Fitter / Machinists to join our team in Shea-Oak Log!

About the Role

As a Fitter / Machinist you will be responsible for machining tasks using CNC and manual equipment, as well as assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical components and systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical components using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting to identify and rectify faults.
  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed.
  • Assist in the installation of new machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSQE).
  • Identify and report opportunities for continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria

  • Trade Certificate – Cert III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (MEM30298).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in production/jobbing machining and maintenance fitting.
  • Skilled in CNC Lathe & Mill, turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and welding.
  • Proficient with precision measurement tools and calibration.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
  • High Risk Forklift Licence.
  • Valid Vehicle Licence.
  • Construction Card (White Card).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on 'can do' attitude.

Desirable Criteria

  • Working at Heights certification.
  • Confined Space certification.
  • High Risk EWP / Scissor Lift.
  • High Risk Dogging / Rigging ticket.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.


Drug and alcohol screening is required prior to commencement, and you may be subject to random testing throughout assignment.
