HSEQ Advisor

Zancott Recruitment is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support a civil construction project at RAAF Base Edinburgh.

This is a hands-on, site-based role working closely with project managers, supervisors, site personnel and subcontractors to implement and maintain health, safety, environmental and quality requirements across the project.

The successful candidate will provide practical HSEQ advice, monitor site compliance and support the project team in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain site WHS and environmental systems and procedures
• Conduct site inspections, internal audits and task observations
• Manage and report incidents, near misses and non-conformances
• Lead incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions
• Review subcontractor HSEQ documentation and monitor ongoing compliance
• Provide practical safety and environmental advice to project teams
• Conduct site inductions and contribute to toolbox talks and prestart meetings
• Lead or participate in site safety meetings
• Monitor permits and project HSEQ documentation
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and document control
• Support compliance with legislative, contractual and project requirements
• Assist with quality audits and project quality requirements
• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the project

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher
• Previous experience in an HSEQ or Safety Advisor role within civil construction, infrastructure or a similar site-based environment
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and construction safety requirements
• Strong communication and reporting skills, with the confidence to engage with project managers, supervisors, workers and subcontractors
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, project programs and safety documentation
• White Card, current First Aid qualification and current driver’s licence
• Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Police Check as a condition of site access
