Mechanical Fitter Trade Assistant – Lonsdale

Zancott Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter Trade Assistant to join our client’s busy industrial manufacturing facility based in Lonsdale, SA.

This is a great opportunity for a mechanically minded Trade Assistant looking for ongoing work within a well-established industrial environment.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Mechanical Fitters and the maintenance team, your duties will include:

• Assisting Mechanical Fitters with maintenance and repair work

• Assisting with breakdown and preventative maintenance

• Removal and installation of mechanical components

• Basic mechanical assembly and disassembly

• Using hand and power tools

• Assisting with machinery and production equipment maintenance

• Cleaning, preparing and organising parts and equipment

• General workshop and maintenance duties

• Maintaining a clean and safe work area

• Following all site safety procedures and requirements

To Be Successful

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Previous experience as a Mechanical/Fitter Trade Assistant

• Experience within an industrial, manufacturing or maintenance environment

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Confident use of hand and power tools

• Ability to work effectively alongside qualified tradespeople

• Strong commitment to workplace safety

• Reliable transport and current driver's licence

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen

Highly regarded:

• Forklift Licence

• EWP Licence

• Working at Heights

• Confined Space

• Previous experience working around production machinery
